Fellow Texas Democrats,

My name is Paul Sadler, and I’m running to be your next United States Senator.

I am honored to announce my candidacy to you, because as Texas Democrats, we share a proud heritage. As someone who served over a decade in the Texas House of Representatives, I know our Democratic heritage and I am proud of it. We are the party that built Texas by investing in industry, healthcare, education and economic infrastructure. We made the tough decisions that balanced our budget but kept moving Texas forward.
Unfortunately, the politicians controlling our state today have put our future at risk, and it is time for us to rebuild this great state. I hope you will join me in returning dignity and integrity to the people’s government. Working together with the conviction of our values we can continue to lead this great nation in the fields of energy, education, health care and science.

The pundits will say we face an uphill battle, but it isn’t the first time we’ve heard that, and it won’t be the last. Our children’s education, investment in jobs and the responsible use of our energy resources are worth fighting for. Please join me in standing up for the next generation of Texans.

The honest truth is that under Democratic leadership we brought our schools out of the Courtroom, had a balanced budget, created jobs in a favorable business climate, and were still able to protect the human dignity and rights of our fellow Texans. Today, we have a State that has four lawsuits over school funding, a budget that made it harder for our families to access health care, cut four billion dollars from our children’s classrooms, and a legislature embroiled in conflict. We can do better for Texas.  We have done better.
This is the United States Senate seat of Texas, and we need representation that cares about all Texans and respects and honors our heritage.  Join me today.
